Mount Beauty is a small town at the end of the Kiewa Valley in Northern Victoria.
The Regulating Pondage takes all the water flowing down from the hydro-electric power plants in the mountains above the town. The water flows in, regains its composure then, is let out again.

This view shows the water very high up, filling the Pondage. I'm standing looking across the Pondage at the willows beside the sewerage works.

The painting started out as a disc of blue, the image was added later, working from a drawing done in situ. It's an experiment in layering four colours: Hansa yellow light, cobalt blue, red oxide, and titanium white.
